Concept: Winter Cameron Story: Kelly Sue DeConnick Pictures: Ceridwen Alison Troy
I thought it might be fun to show this page at a few different stages as I work this week. I work in a way that’s similar to doing traditional cell-animation. First I draw my figures in pencil on paper. Then they’re composited together on the page, and any words or graphics are added to get a feel for the layout. Once I like it, I’ll create digitally painted backgrounds, then fill the figures with color.
I’m more used to working on posters than comics, so we’ll see how well this works as we go. This whole project is a really great opportunity to practice, practice, practice. Want to get good enough to do this for real some day.
